About

Meet Adiron

Adiron formed in 2024 and is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Founded by Chris Couch, the group benefits from contributions by performing artists across the USA.

Adiron makes lush pop with deep lyrical content. The soundscapes are built from the analog sounds of vintage synths, real percussion and electric guitars, and they range from intimate to a full-throttle wall of sound. The sonic family tree runs through synth-driven Eighties giants like Tears for Fears and Peter Gabriel, and Nineties pop artists like Seal.

What handmade means

Every sound is played by a person.

Vintage synths, real drums, real voices. No AI, no Auto-Tune, no programmed beats.

Recorded and mixed at KMS Music Studio, Ann Arbor, Michigan: Real studio rooms with real gear, including two Steinways built 93 years apart.

What we care about

Emotional honesty

Songs about hard human things, built inside deep lyrical and historical worlds.

Real instruments

Vintage synths, real drums and percussion, real singing. The takes you hear were played.

Sophisticated pop

Accessible and full of hooks, but always with a touch of something interesting.

The arc

From struggle to connection

From the Ashes (2024) was honest about addiction, depression, self-doubt and suicidal thoughts, and about holding each other up. Its messages often don’t arrive: a dead radio, a voice echoing in a cave, “nothing’s coming through.”

If you’re struggling, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, US). You’re not alone.

Letters (2027) is the hopeful turn: messages that did arrive, across four thousand years. Ash becomes ink and wax. After the fire, we wrote to each other.
